How we write this

Who writes GLPme content, which sources we accept, the rules we hold ourselves to on risk numbers, and how corrections work.

Who writes this

GLPme content is written and maintained by GLPme Research, the in-house team that builds the GLPme app. We are not clinicians, and we do not present ourselves as any. What we have is a specific, narrow kind of expertise: we have read a very large volume of what people on GLP-1 medication actually say about it, and we build the software they use to track it.

That shapes what we are useful for. We are good at the questions between appointments — what happens on day three, what the label actually says about a missed dose, how to convert a compounded dose without injecting ten times too much. We are not a substitute for the person who prescribed your medication, and no page on this site is written as if we were.

How we source claims

Every number on this site traces to a document you can open. In descending order of preference:

  1. Regulatory documents. FDA prescribing information, FDA safety communications, EMA and MHRA assessments. These are the primary record for approved indications, contraindications and adverse reaction rates.
  2. Peer-reviewed primary research. Randomised trials and their published extensions, cited by name and journal — SELECT, the STEP programme, SURMOUNT.
  3. Major clinical institutions for background and mechanism, where a primary source would be needlessly technical.
  4. Our own data, clearly labelled as ours, with the method described on the methodology page.

What we do not use: other content sites as a source of fact, press releases as a source of effect size, or a number we cannot trace back to one of the above. If a claim cannot be sourced, it gets removed rather than hedged into vagueness.

Rules we hold ourselves to

Corrections and updates

This is a field where the evidence moves, and pages that do not move with it become wrong quietly.

Every guide carries an "updated" date in its byline, and that date changes only when the content changes — not on a schedule to look fresh. We review the safety content whenever a regulator issues a relevant decision, and at minimum twice a year.

If you find an error, tell us at hello@getglpme.com. Substantive factual corrections get noted on the page rather than silently patched.

What this site is not

GLPme is educational wellness software. Nothing we publish is medical advice, a diagnosis, or a treatment plan. We do not prescribe, we do not tell anyone to start, stop, taper, switch or combine a medication, and we do not replace a licensed clinician who knows your history. Where a page describes a symptom that needs urgent care, act on that and not on the rest of the page.

The app behind the research

GLPme is one timeline for doses, side effects, food noise, protein and weight, with a doctor-ready summary at the end of it. Core tracking is free.
